The library is happy to offer several spaces, free of charge, for quiet study and meetings. In general, individuals and groups may reserve up to six hours per week in library rooms, but some are also available on a drop-in basis (details below). These spaces are accessible during the library’s open hours. Use of space after hours is by special arrangement only and must be discussed with the Library Director.
The library Board of Trustees oversees the Policy for Use of Library Conference Rooms to enable the whole community to benefit from this shared resource. Enjoy the space!
Community Meeting Room
Location: 2nd floor, near the Children’s Room and the Spicy Lime teen room

Private meetings allowed? In general, all gatherings in the Community Meeting Room must be free and open to the public. Private meetings are by special arrangement only with approval from the Library Director.
The newly renovated meeting room is available for group meetings and programs that are free and open to the public. It’s equipped with an LCD projector, DVD and CD players, and videoconferencing equipment as well as chairs and folding tables. Groups who schedule the room have access to the adjoining kitchen.
Local History Reading Room
Location: Mezzanine, next to the Local History research room
Food and beverages allowed? No
Private meetings allowed? Yes, groups may book the space during the evening for public or private meetings.
To book the space: During the day, the room is available on a drop-in basis only, for quiet study. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings (6:00-9:00), groups may schedule public or private meetings by contacting the Main Office, (802) 254-5290 extension 0, or the Reference Desk.
The Local History Reading Room was established in response to requests from library patrons for a quiet work area. Users of the room are requested to keep the lights on and the door open so all may freely come and go. The room displays books from the library’s Local History collection and art from the Fine Arts collection. In the evening, the room can be scheduled for public or private meetings.
Mezzanine Meeting Room
Location: Mezzanine, near the grandfather clock

To book the space: The room may be reserved in advance for up to two hours by individuals, pairs, or small groups. Please contact the Main Office (802) 254-5290 extension 0, or the Reference Desk. If unoccupied, the room may be used on a first come, first served basis for up to two hours, but please check in at the front desk to verify availability and reserve your time.
The Mezzanine Meeting Room was created by adding a floor to the “glass box” that has been used for various purposes in the library’s history. It has a beautiful view of the first floor and has quickly become a favorite spot for study and small meetings.
Small Meeting Room
Location: First floor, near the reference office
Food and beverages allowed? Yes, as they are throughout the tiled area on the first floor. Please keep things neat and tidy!
Private meetings allowed? Yes.

The Small Meeting Room was created to provide space for quiet study, tutorials, interviews, and private conversations. Feel free to bring a beverage or a snack.
